As the parent of 2 babies under 5yo, I'm still upset about the lack of immunogenicity for the 3ug two-dose schedule from Pfizer. Yes, the dosage is safe, but it's too low (or maybe some other reason) to elicit the kind of immune response that would protect our babies. 1/n
I know vaccines take a long time to develop, and I've just been so bolstered by the efficacy and speed of the rest of the vaccine developments regarding covid-19, that I was just... not only optimistic, but actually expecting positive news about the under 5yo's. 2/n

This semester we started a writing group in lab. We have to write:
4 Honors Thesis
1 MS Thesis
2 Comprehensive Exams (F31 style)
and papers and grants.
It seemed a little overwhelming at first, but we've broken it down. (1/n)
Step 1: We blocked out two hours every Monday to write together. #MadWriting
Step 2: We set bite-sized goals for every single writing project, due on Friday. (e.g., Feb1: draft methods and draft results headers), working back from everyone's individualized deadlines. (2/n)

I am floored of reporting there are no sessions discussing the context of human genetics research at the annual meeting of the American Society of Human Genetics. Especially because I know symposia on the topic were submitted. #ASHG18 (2/n)
