I'm just here to toast marshmallows while the world burns and make snarky, expletive-laden tweets about how hot it is.

It's gonna be a long 🧵boys and girls...
It has been a beautifully grand SCOTUS finale. I have been at a loss for words today, not because of the rulings, but because of the reactions to the rulings on the part of the media and the Democrats.
It has been a concerted, diabolical, dishonest effort on their part to portray this session as the downfall of democracy rather than the greatest and most profound reinforcement of our Republic and its ideals that I have seen in my 51 years.

*Warning: incoming cuss-laden thread*
You know what. We as a country are done. We have just shown our ass to the world. It's nasty, ugly, wrinkled, shit-stained, dingleberry infested, and there will be no recovering from this under the current "leadership" and current climate.
We've become a nation of navel gazers who have it so easy that our free time is spent arguing over whether someone with a dick can be a chick, holding great leaders of the past to impossible standards of the present, and adding new genders to the grievance menu every 5 minutes.

Just returned from a lengthy hiatus in normal land where people don't immerse themselves in social media and politics.
Here is what I know based on my anectodatal experience in a non "red" area:
Vast majority think masks are stupid but tolerate them because they have to.
No one I have engaged with thinks COVID warrants the fear mongering. And my family got hit with it while I was there.
Everyone wants their kids back in school

Talked to my Mom tonight. She is an absolute Rush Limbaugh conservative.
But she is 80, trapped in the house and has been watching to CNN.
Here is what she "knows":
She had no idea Cuomo ordered nursing homes to accept COVID patients. She literally did not believe me.
She had no idea that 1/3-1/2 of all deaths happened in nursing homes.
She thought COVID was as bad everywhere as it is in NY.
She had no idea NY didnt start cleaning their subways until March.

The media's histrionics are about 2 things:
1. They are terrified of the public seeing that private industry is far more effective and efficient than govt.
2. They are terrified that Trump will preside over the successful containment of the first real pandemic to hit the US.
They need private industry to fail because they need to show that only government can protect you.
They need this pandemic to be deadly and uncontained because otherwise Trump will be able to claim the win.

Bill Gates has done more to improve the human existence than any person in recorded history.
He started Microsoft in a fucking garage.
His innovation literally built the world we live in. The phone and computer you use to demand 95% of his wealth... he created.
He has devoted his wealth to creating jobs and whole fucking industries that our world operates on.
He has used his wealth to give back like no other ever has, through donations, charitable organizations and foundations.
He's done more with his wealth than government ever could

So my earlier tweet kind of blew up.
I need to address a common response, "but he was suicidal, we should just let him keep his guns?".
Answer. Yes.
Let me explain...
Let's imagine you have an elderly parent, eyesight going, signs of moderate age-relates dementia.
So their kid calls the police and says "my Dad is losing his mind, hes dangerous and shouldnt be driving."

It's that time of year, and the whining of the children has begun.
"My taxes are higher! I'm paying more! Thanks Drumpf. Harumph, harumph, harumph."
Seems I'm on a roll lately. So another, slightly less cuss-filled, rant commencing...
Without SALT deductions, you're finally feeling the burden of your local/state taxes.
Which until now you have blithely shrugged off because you knew you would get reimbursed from the federal government (AKA the American taxpayer).

Well I see we've returned to "wealth is bad" again and the progs all have wet panties over taxing the f*ck out of people who they think have "too much".
Oh, how I hate this worn out, tired out trope that wealth is somehow "horded" and "stolen".
Warning. Cuss filled rant coming.
Wealth is not finite. There isn't a box of money that, once gone, is gone forever. Wealth is created. Every day, all the time.
Me earning $100 doesn't mean someone else lost $100.
