Among her failures, the least talked about was also her worst. Until all official records related to the Simla Agreement signed on July 2, 1972 are made public, we will never know what led Indira Gandhi to conclude such a disadvantageous peace with Pak following the 1971 war.
The Simla Agreement & the subsequent Delhi Agreement, gave Pakistan everything it wanted: the territory it lost to India in the war and the safe return of all its soldiers without one of them being held responsible for the genocidal campaign unleashed in what is now Bangladesh.

The #openmagazine came with the headline
“The Villain Nobody Knows” and the byline, “The Indian Civil Service officer who helped the Hindu Mahasabha lay claim to the Babri Masjid”.
The villain was an ICS officer of Kerala Cadre #KKKNair
who played an unforgettable role in reinstating the fundamental right to worship of Hindus in the Rama Janmabhumi before Bharat became a constitutional republic.
KK Nair or Kandangalathil Karunakaran Nair is a name deeply engraved in the history of the Ayodhya movement.

All you have to do is read your own history. If you have any human decency about you, you should die with shame.
Sardar Udham Singh commented in Court defending himself.
On this day, 31st July, 1940, Sardar Udham Singh was hanged at Pentonville jail, London.
A small tribute for an icon in Bharatiya Svatantrya Sangram.
Udham Singh was born as Sher Singh on 26 December 1899 at Punjab.
If it was the Jallianwala Bagh massacre which provided the turning point of his life which led him to avenge the dead, it was Bhagat Singh
How the Venkateshwara Suprabhatam, the early-morning anthem of many Hindu households, across continents, turned to be the largest selling non-film recording in India's musical history?
Thread....
The first verse in the Venkateswara Suprabhatam is taken from the Bala Kanda of Valmiki’s Ramayana, and the rest was written by the Sanskrit and Tamil scholar-poet Prathivadhi Bhayankaram Annangaracharya.

Like all other Hoysala Devasthana, Bucheshwara Mandir at Koravangala, Hassan has a story to tell in every sculpture.
It's our Durgati, that there's nobody to notice it.

The Mandir I visited today dates back to 1173CE and is considered to be the flag-bearer of Hoysala architecture.
This Mandir is dedicated to Eshwara & Surya Bhagawan.

“Hindus have lost everything and I can’t see Hindus getting annihilated or become stateless”.
Had it not been for #ShyamaPrasadMookerjee, there would have been no West Bengal today.
#Jayanti.
Before reading further, let us keep this in mind, that
Gandhi endorsed the claim for a united and independent Bengal on 12 May 1947.
It is regrettable that most Bengali Hindus themselves don’t know this because the post-independence generations have only been taught a white-washed version of history in schools and colleges.

If asked, what was the role of #SwamiVivekananda in Bharatiya Svatantrya Sangram, many of us will scratch our heads as we know nothing about him except that he gave a speech in Chicago.
While most of us see Swami Vivekananda as a
Sanyasi who spread Sanatana Dharma to the world, very few know his contribution for freedom struggle.
The Clarion Call, “Rise, Awake & Stop Not Till The Goal Is Reached” was to kick out British from Bharat.

The answer for them in this thread ….
#SWARAJYA,
Lokmanya Bal Gangadhara Tilak, made the word ‘Swarajya’ reverberate throughout India with his slogan: ‘Swarajya is my birth right’.
But who used it first?
It was economist Dadabhai Naoroji who, borrowing the word from Shivaji, brought it into the freedom movement.

This theatre recognition soon led to work in television advertisements and eventually to films at the relatively late age of 40.

The aftermath of the 1921 Moplah Terror had come to Doctorji as a shock.
Indian Muslims had proved themselves Muslims first and Indians only secondarily so that when the Khilafat was given up in Turkey, they withdrew from the allied movement for national independence.
The whole atmosphere was charged with Muslim fanaticism. ‘Allah ho akbar’ and not ‘Bharat mata ki jai’ was heard everywhere. Soon there were Muslim riots in Bannu, Kohat, Multan, Nagpur, Kanpur and elsewhere.

Motherless at 4, marriage at 14, mother at 23, widow at 25, defender of Jhansi at 29, battlefield warrior against British forces at 30, veeramarana at 30!
On June 18, 1858, Jhansi Rani, "most dangerous rebel leader" in British occupied India , was killed at the Gwalior fort.
Even if the Indians forget, Gwalior fort will never be forgotten by the British. This is because it is a fort that has witnessed the fiercest struggle against British colonialism. The last battle of Jhansi Rani Lakshmi Bhai, was fought at this fort in Gwalior.
