A fundamental problem with much of contemporary feminist critique, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, s a lack of engagement with the philosophy of language and categories. Misogyny is not merely any differentiation between men and women. When properly defined, it is the ideological hostility or contempt toward women, often manifesting through systemic sexism, but rooted in deeper animosity or belief in female inferiority.
