I've been reading stuff on degrowth for the last couple of months (mostly to write @EcoSceptique)

I started my reading with an open mind but the scientific weakness of what I read was stunning

In a nutshell: - no clear definition
- no empirical evidence it can decrease CO2 emissions
- no clear and empirically evaluated mechanisms to implement it
- no clear view on its impact on public finance, public services and the supply of goods and services
- no evaluation of its costs

So @Twitter @TwitterSupport @jack decided to tighten their antivax "moderation" - which is good

But they locked me out of @EcoSceptique after I published an IRONIC tweet about vaccines

I literally got vaccinated for the flu and asked people to do the same **in this account** 🤦🏻‍♂️

Also, this is an account literally dedicated to promote science and fight anti-science bullshit – such as, wait for it, antivax bs

This is pure, egregious incompetence

La nouvelle génération n'a pas à sa disposition la structure d'un grand média (télévision, journal, etc.). Ils ont Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, et la seule force de leurs arguments.

Et contrairement à "avant", ils ont malgré tout réussi à bâtir une audience.

There is this belief in economics, I think widespread, that if you’re not in a top institution, it’s because somehow you’re not good enough.

You’re not good enough with math, you’re not good enough with econometrics, with this, or that.

That’s non-sense.

1/n Rare, or even non-existent, are the people who are skilled in *everything*. It’s normal to not be good at everything.

But for people in non-top institutions, they often interpret this as a proof they are not good enough-period.
