‘Grifter,’ apparently. Raised more than £500k for various orgs. in the last few years. Only had one angry solicitor’s letter. Will use own kids for freebies.

I’ve had some comments and questions here and there over the last week (not the ones accusing of me exploiting the kids for social media clout, the others) about trips around Europe by rail from the UK, so I thought I’d just answer a few here to make it look like I know what…
…I’m talking about. As always, do your own research as I’m nowhere near as knowledgeable about les choo choos as that Seat 61 guy or Geoff off YouTube.
The whole idea came about because the kids and me have watched a load of videos about Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg.

‘Unfortunately as my mortgage provider doesn't take payment "in the form of promotion on their socials", and my staff can't feed their kids with exposure on Instagram, I'll have to decline your very generous offer. Those are my thoughts.’
… and before someone trawls my Facebook and spots that I’ve had meals out / other stuff for free before in exchange for ‘exposure,’ I get invited for this sort of thing from time to time by businesses and their marketing people - I never go out demanding it :)

This is my response to the official consultation regarding ticket office closures at stations - I’ve emailed it in. Sorry if it bangs on a bit … 🧵
Although my nearest station is Hockley in Essex, my thoughts apply to the UK network. I’m not going to dance around this, the proposed cuts (not ‘changes’ if we’re being honest) will tear the heart out of the UK’s railways in a way not seen since the days of Dr Richard Beeching.

EMERGENCY THREAD - PLEASE RT. As Britain First got 216 votes in Hockley and Ashingdon, there is now chatter on social media about our little Essex town being full of … well what’s a diplomatic way of putting this … c***s. Here’s why that couldn’t be more wrong about Hockley.🧵
Nestling between Hawkwell and Rayleigh, Hockley is a small town full of amazing residents that haven’t had their will to live broken by having more sets of temporarily traffic lights than people. Mark François is our MP, but he’s alright if you avoid the whole Brexit thing.

After that guy on Radio 5 Live had an extraordinary rant about people on benefits with flatscreen TVs today, I wanted to reshare ‘BUT THEY’VE GOT MONEY FOR …’ Replies for every idiot abusing people on social media who loses their shit about this sort of thing.
‘ … A FLAT-SCREEN TV.’ If you want a non-flat screen these days, you need to ram raid a local museum or employ a team of electricians and engineers so advanced that you would need to go head-hunting at NASA. People literally give them away on Facebook Marketplace FFS.

To the man who just had a pacemaker fitted on Radio 5 Live ranting about people on benefits ‘with flat-screen TVs.’ You’re going to blow a gasket mate. You’re an absolute disgrace. Have a Lemsip. Have a w*nk. Calm down.
Well done to @bbc5live for broadcasting his utter ignorance to the nation.

I sometimes get asked about trolling on here and ‘dealing with it’ (and before you ask yes … I’m fully aware that I can be an annoying little shit on here sometimes as well). I only really have a few tips, but I’ll share them anyway in this thread. 🧵
First of all, you’ll quickly become aware of the same names popping up over and over, and you’ll notice who is practically ‘gagging’ for a RT and the notoriety and that comes with it. Therefore, sometimes just RT a ‘newbie’ randomly. It drives your regular customers crazy.

Hi Julia. It’s a shame you deleted this, but I am going to save it and show my eight-year-old autistic son that he can achieve whatever the fuck he wants in life in spite of prominent media figures using his gift as a slur whenever it suits their agenda. @JuliaHB1 What … and I can’t stress this enough … the fuck were you thinking?

With the news that you’ll be able to get a sleeper service from London to Berlin from May 2023 (change in Brussels), I wanted to share our experience of the London to Penzance sleeper, The GWR Night Riviera, that we did in the Summer of 2022. It was awesome. 🧵
A few of you (well one of you, I think) asked for more info about our trip on the GWR Night Riviera sleeper train from London Paddington to Penzance this week.

My review of the ‘new and not improved’ Mamia baby wipes from Aldi has now been read by a MILLION people on Facebook in 24 hours, so I thought I would share it here too in a loooooooooong ass thread …
Oh Aldi. I had your back throughout the whole caterpillar cake thing, as did so many parents up and down the land. How do you repay us for this support?
