1/ While the Pyramids of Giza were built for religious reasons, they essentially acted as time capsules transporting information through thousands of years. While we don't exactly know how they were built, we know that they required a massive amount of work. 2/ Think about the structures we erect today. Barely anything will last for centuries, let alone millenia. We don't build to last, we build to rebuild because it's cheaper in the short run. The way humans handle information has also radically changed in recent decades.

0/ The former Chief Economist of the Swiss National Bank Kurt Schiltknecht is openly criticising current monetary policy and the normalisation of negative interest rates in a major weekly newspaper. He sees cryptocurrencies as a possible solution for the economy.

Bitcoin Twitter is a fascinating phenomenon
It's a marketplace of ideas and information. The currency traded is social status. People are putting their reputation on the line in a renegotiation of the fundamental fabric of money and how it should integrate in our future.
Historically the process of finding a mutually beneficial form of money was a slow process. Today we see this happening at a rapid pace. Ideas are exchanged globally in an instant. Everyone has the opportunity to contribute and rise up in the competence hierarchy.

Safe to say it's not retail banking, rather we are questioning the legitimacy of a far more powerful organisation, the BIS. 2/ Outside of our space nobody's ever heard of the BIS (Bank of International Settlements). It's an obscure organisation operating from a huge building in Basel (Switzerland). Looking in to the history of the "central bank of central banks" I discovered some interesting things.
