The unfortunate incident that occurred on the night of 18/19 October caused great heartache and resentment within all ranks of Sindh Police. As a result, IG Sindh decided to proceed on leave and subsequently all ranks decided that they would also apply for leave to protest the humiliation meted out to Sindh police. When Jamshoro police went after notorious extortionist Ranjho Khoso who had snatched two trucks of coal a day before, his sympathizers protected and resisted his arrest resulting in injury to 5 police personnel and snatching of G3 rifle. Anticipating police reaction, sympathizers from his community used women and kids to block Indus Highway for 9hrs, resulting in traffic jam. Multiple negotiations failed for handing the responsible back to police and opening up of highway.
