Summary of Professor Akanji's lecture on dietary habits:
1. You only have control over what is between your mouth and throat. Between the throat and the anus, you have absolutely no control over it. That is, once food has passed your throat, it's out of your hands; 2. After a meal, it takes 5 to 7 hours for the digestive system to complete its work. Assuming you eat @ 7am, your next meal should be @ 12pm or 2pm;

3. Eating in-between meals disrupts digestion and puts pressure on the system. It's like putting pepper in a grinder and before

Recently, a famous social media couple announced divorce days after their second child was born. What is most shocking is that this couple lived their entire matrimonial life on instagram, portraying themselves as a perfect match, living the best marital life anyone can wish for. Many of their followers might have felt so miserable with their own lives, hoping and praying they can be as happy as the now estranged couple. In fact, some may have thought that they were in the wrong marriage, torturing themselves emotionally and mentally.

The Story of Julaybīb's Marriage

Anas bn Mālik said:

كان رجل من أصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقال له جُليبيب ، كان في وجهه دمامة

There was among the Sahābah a man with an ugly face named Julaybīb.
He was poor and used to spend most of his time sitting with the Prophet

One day, the Prophet said: O Julaybīb! Won't you marry?

Dear Kwara State Govt

1/Many who are otherwise spectators on either side of the aisle on this matter are unfortunately oblivious of the historical as well as empirical facts therein. Understandably, though inexcusably, many amongst them are irked by positions & counter-positions 2/This sentiment-based bitterness is further fueled, by a mischievous few, who know the truth, but would rather capitalize on the ignorance of many, to heat up the polity. It is, therefore, a fact that this situation, if allowed to linger for much longer will only lead to anarchy

The Sincerity of the Sahābah: Jarīr bn Abdil-A'lāh Al-Bajalī رضي الله عنه in Focus

It is narrated that Jarīr bn Abdil-A'lāh Al-Bajalī رضي الله عنه once sent his servant to purchase a horse and he got one at about 200 Dirhams. When he saw the horse, he asked his servant: He: How much did you buy it?

Servant: 200 Dirhams

He: Indeed, you have underpriced this horse. Do you recognize the seller?

Servant: Yes, I do

He: Take me to him immediately.

On getting to the owner, Jarīr رضي الله عنه said to him, "You have sold this animal for a lesser

1. Today, in our explanation of the Hadīth لا يقبل الله صلاة أحدكم إذا أحدث حتى يتوضأ “Allāh will not accept the prayer of any one of you if he breaks wind, until he does wudū”, we examined the juristic polemics on the application of the word قَبول ‘acceptance’. 2. The reason for the differences in its application can be traced to the differences in its connotations. Basically, jusrists have defined this word in two ways:

a. ترتب الثواب على العبادة qualification of an act of worship for reward. The major point here is الثواب (reward).

Scholars of Islām said there are two fundamental reasons why man is commanded to wear clothes: To cover his nudity & to look nice.

If one's cloth satisfies only either of the two reasons above, then, it would not be deemed to have fulfilled the natural essence for clothing. For instance, if one's cloth is torn or tattered or exposes the cleavages or back or hips, et cetera, he/she has not covered his/her nudity. In the same vein, everyone of us buys a nice material that has good texture and color, gives it to a professional tailor to sew a nice

Looting hoarded public properties: A Sharī'ah perspective.

It is impermissible to do so even if it's being hoarded unjustly. The ownership of a public property is unspecified until each person gets their legitimate share. Looting public properties is expressly unlawful and unjustified under any guise, even if the leaders are unjust. The Prophet - peace and blessing upon him- enjoined us to observe our duties to to unjust rulers and leave them to Allāh for our denied rights.

Some people think that if one's right were withheld by another, one is permitted to go behind his back to retrieve it without his consent and approval. For example, the looting of the COVID-19 food palliatives that happened in Lagos recently. This idea is false and criminal. Islām does not approve of criminal actions. Hind bint 'Utbah came to the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وسلم & said:

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ رَجُلٌ شَحِيحٌ لاَ يُعْطِينِي مِنَ النَّفَقَةِ مَا يَكْفِينِي وَيَكْفِي بَنِيَّ إِلاَّ مَا أَخَذْتُ مِنْ

عشر قواعد التعامل مع الشدائد

Ten rules of dealing with difficulties

Dr Umar al-Muqbil

You’re NOT alone

Allāh does everything for a reason 3-

Only Allāh can benefit and harm. Hold on to none but Him.

Whatever harms you could never have missed you and

It is permitted to take the Janābah bath with soap (and sponge). This can be done through either of the following two ways:

* The bathwater can be mixed with soap (liquid or powdered) and then used to take the Janābah bath. (This is debatable. The majority of the scholars oppose its use while Abū Hanīfah, Ahmad in one of his two views & which is the stand of Ibn Taimiyah permit it.). The view of permissibility is stronger in proof but the view of impermissibility is safer.

1. Your parents raised me from birth because I lost mine. They treated me like their own. They hired a nanny to breastfeed me so I didn't suckle your mother's breasts. All these happened while they were still barren. Later, Allāh blessed them with children of their own. 2. You and your siblings were born into my hands. You all grew up seeing me as your elder bro. In fact, I bathed all of you as kids & prepared you for school. You turned out to be a very beautiful, religious and well-behaved lady. I was still without a wife. So I proposed to you.

Our Situation Today

A stone fell on a fox’s tail and severed it.

When another fox saw him, he asked, why did you severe your tail? He replied: I feel happiness (without the tail). I feel like I’m flying in the air. What a great delight it is!

So the second fox cut his own tail, but rather than find it pleasurable like his friend said,

One of the obligatory duties upon every sincere Muslim is to not make aby statement or take any action except that he knows the injunction of Allāh on it. It is on this basis that Allāh commands thus:

فَسۡـئَلُوۡۤا اَهۡلَ الذِّكۡرِ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَۙ "So ask those who possess knowledge if you do not know." (16:43)

This is why eminent scholars of Hadīth like Al-Bukhārī رحمه الله among others have a chapter dedicated for this purpose. It reads:

Chapter: (The obligation of seeking)

Nupeland is a theatre of charade & shenanigans. Perhaps one of the catalysts for the pervasive absurdities in Nupeland is the Sūfī's unnecessary emphasis on, nay exaggeration of the concepts of wilāyah & karāmāt, & their inability to differentiate between the latter & sorcery. As a Muslim & researcher, I totally believe in the concepts of wilāyah & karāmāt. However, I have a problem with the fact that Sūfīs tend to have monopolized these concepts & arrogated to their acclaimed saints the power to exhibit karāmāt almost to the exclusion of others.

One of the most unfortunate things about Nupeland is that the things we proudly celebrate as culture are acts of Shirk, Kufr and grave sins. I will pick just three examples:

i. Ndakogboya (Masquerades) are remnants of widespread Shirk in Nupeland and are till date featured in our movies, annual Sallah celebrations, coronations as well as other important events. This culture of disbelief is so common with us that the Yoruba will taunt us saying, "So audacious is the Tapa man that he erected a house for his masquerade." Religiously, and over 90% of

The Story of IYa Ile okan

Lives a woman on ‘gbeborun’ street

All of her neighbors she would greet

Each morning, from house to house

Iya ile ookan in her usual purple blouse

An expert in others’ domestic affairs

She even knows their affairs in arrears For long, aunty Amebo poked her nose

In her neigbhours’ secrets, far and close

Cheaply supplied by ‘bebeto’ housewives

Irresponsible busy-bodies and lowly-lives

Selling their matrimonial secrets at no price

Except perhaps for a wretched plate of rice

CHALLENGING THE STATUS QUO

Perhaps one of the most difficult task for Du'āt & adherents of the Sunnah in Nupeland is challenging the status quo. Dad رحمه الله used to say to me:

"I do not resent your practice of the Sunnah. The only issue I have is, Sunnah is still strange in this society and you're going to find yourself lonely. Challenging what the people hold as fundamental to their faith and culture will earn you more enemies than friends."

It was for this his noble disposition that even as the Chief Imām, he embraced the Ahlussunnah and never

Jewish Traits in the Ummah

In the past few hours, I've been inundated with phone calls and messages of threat by inconsequential nincompoops and appeal by close relatives to discontinue further discussions on the nefarious activities of the deranged witchdoctor, Hasan Patigi. I am neither shocked nor disappointed by these developments as they further expose the Jewish traits in the Ummah. Allāh described the Jews as the most favoured nation. Yet, they were the most rebellious and ungrateful to Allāh. They were notorious for the following evils:

The 9th Hadīth from ‘Umdat al-Ahkām reads as follows:

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت: كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يُعجِبه التيمُّن في تنعُّله وترجُّله وطهوره، وفي شأنه كلِّه

“The Prophet ﷺ loved to begin his affairs from the right: his wearing shoes, combing hair & purification. After my dars on this Hadīth, a man asked: Ustādh, based on this Hadīth, we are encouraged to wear our shoes & clothes beginning with the right side. How come you’re wearing your ring and wristwatch on your left?”

I replied:

Jazākumullāhu Khayran.

NUPELAND UNDER SIEGE (2)

The current siege & onslaught on Nupeland championed by the deranged chartalan, Hasan Patigi, is being imposed & sponsoreded by the Royal fathers who are his chief hosts & clients. While at Mokwa, he was granted full support by the NdaLile of Mokwa. There are confirmed reports that the NdaLile Mokwa arranged for his accommodation among other things. Some notable Emirs from Edu were among those that visited him, in search for spiritual cure. Currently, he's in Patigi where he's being hosted and given full support by the Emir.
