In previous generations there was shame associated with sin.

This was often brought through social pressure apart from the civil law and was a good blessing to society.

Sin was viewed as heinous which restricted it to be done in the dark corners of society

In the Old Testament there were many pagan false gods that the Israelites wandered to worship.

One such false god was Moloch.

Today moloch worship is continued with child sacrifice in abortion 🧵 The sacrifice to Moloch was recorded in Jeremiah “They built high places to Baal in the Valley of Beth-hinnom and immolated their sons and daughters to Molech bringing sin upon Judah.” The Israelites left the Lord to follow this false pagan god and gave their children in worship.

Many have complicated the issue of male vs female pastors

Scripture states that one of the qualifications for a pastor is being a man

However, God didn’t arbitrarily decide that men are to be pastors but designed them for the duty just as He designed women to bear children🧵 Requirements for the office elder/overseer are detailed in 1 Tim 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

Both require those holding the office to be men as they say “husband of one wife” which is only possible for men.

There is a new myth that “homosexual” didn’t appear in the Bible until 1946 because of a mistranslation of the word in a German Bible.

This myth doesn’t take into account how scripture is translated directly from the original language or how modern use of words change 🧵 Scripture was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic and we derive translations directly from these original texts to get the most accurate meaning.

English Bibles aren’t translated from German Bibles but the original texts.

God ordained three human institutions with specific purposes for His glory:

Church- proper worship, division of the Word, and administration of the Ordinances

Family- raise children in the instruction and admonition of the Lord

Government- an avenger of God to punish evil 🧵 This doesn’t mean these are the only purposes for these institutions but the primary ones.

When any of these institutions assumes the primary duty of a different institution as its duty things go drastically wrong.

Premillennial Dispensationalism has become the default eschatological position for the American Church and the fruit it has produced has been a disaster.

It has produced a generation that has forsaken the discipleship of the family for mission work to the foreigner. The primary tenant of this view is that because Christ may return in the next second all efforts must be devoted to mission work.

This has lead to a large focus on mission work in expense of family discipleship.

A prime example of this bad fruit is the American Methodist Church
