@mhdksafa When it's done dishonestly, it's not the scientific method that's lying, it's specific people. To claim that any class or profession of people are incapable of lying or deception is an extraordinary claim and requires extraordinary evidence. @mhdksafa And yes, if a scientist makes a false statement with intent to deceive he or she IS lying: “science doesn’t lie” is a nonsensical deflection because the assertion isn’t that the scientific method is lying but that a particular scientist or institution is.

@mhdksafa Since so many people still seemed to be enamored with this anti-intellectual take, I'm compelled to address it once and for all. I hoped more people had enough capacity for critical thinking to see how self-evidently flawed it is, but here we are.
