I had emailed a senior Harvard prof to register for his course. After initially ok-ing it he suddenly emailed that I shouldn't reg. He had creepily googled me, found my *personal website* and barred me on its basis. Just another day of being discriminated as a woman of color here
Why am I posting this here? Because over the past 5 months of being harassed and bullied by old white profs, I've learnt that I have no social capital as a woman of color in these elite universities. So I'm using my social capital here to call attention to racism in these spaces.

I love how nobody in my family knows what or where MIT is. My relatives think I’m studying at Manipal Institute of Technology or Marathwada Institute of Technology 🙃
For context, nobody else in my family has ever been to the US. Far from being impressed by Ivy League, nobody in middle-class Indian families knows or cares about elite US universities.😂

A thread of some of the novels I read in the past 2-3 years, organised (inadequately) by geography. I've left out the books that evade clean demographic categorisations or those that I read ebook versions of. In each category, I've prioritized books written by women of colour.🧵
1. Africa (Mali, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ghana)
