If you want to promote your music using FB / IG ads, you need a smart link service.

But which one do you choose?

In this thread i'll compare my favorites...
πŸ‘‡ First of all, what is a smart link?

Basically its a single landing page for a song that links people to various places they can stream it.

You can usually add a custom domain and you usually get analytics.

Think of it like a linkinbio for a song...

There is a Spotify playlist scam going around, let me explain how it works so you can avoid getting tricked by it!

πŸ§΅πŸ‘‡ The playlist goes around randomly adding artists to their playlist, giving them a couple thousand streams over a few days.

The artist sees this bump in Spotify for Artists so decides to check out the playlist.

Surprise, the playlist has a website in the description.

Every song i've released in the past 3 years has gotten on Discover Weekly. For the most part, getting on it is quite predictable.

I had 300 artists submit their Spotify for Artists data and a data analyst ran some numbers on it.
🧡 First, this is a somewhat debated topic, but in my experience when you hit a popularity index of about 30 you start seeing Discover Weekly. 🎡

At about 20 you start seeing algorithmic Release Radar as well (to more than just your followers).

Every artist wants to be on an editorial playlist, but this is a situation I think most artists should want to avoid. Image I've seen this for a few artists. Almost every song gets added to at least one editorial, and some songs get added to multiple and might stay on them for many months or over a year.

Quick music marketing blueprint πŸ“˜for a single:
1. Social media
2. Paid marketing
3. Curator marketing

πŸ‘‡ 1. Social media πŸ“± - aim for creating 40-60 short form video clips for each song.

This if very often not that time intensive, just performing the song in a cool place and chopping it into pieces...
