I have complex thoughts about “dunking” on Asian parents a) because it’s usually in response to contending with the abuse many of us have endured and continue to endure, knowing many of us will never be able to actual have a healthy relationship with them. And b)… When you’re abused and grow up in parts of the country without other Asians, you don’t know what’s cultural and normal and what’s not, even cultural and normal does not mean it shouldn’t be examined, c)…
