On this day in 1994, Andres Escobar was shot six times and killed on his return to Medellín after his own goal knocked Colombia out of the World Cup. RIP. 🇨🇴 “Life cannot end here. No matter how difficult, we must stand back up.” - Andres Escobar, Colombia’s captain, after his own goal led to a 2-1 defeat to hosts USA and exit from the 1994 World Cup. Five days later, he was shot dead in his car in circumstances never fully explained.

Srivaddhanaprabha would not only pump money into the football club, but his generosity towards the city of Leicester was nothing short of incredible...
