Gadag

Tucked in the heart of North Karnataka, Gadag is a land where history, art, and wind come alive.

Once a thriving center of Chalukyan architecture and Kannada literature, Gadag quietly preserves India’s ancient brilliance, away from the tourist rush.

Every corner here tells a story, from the Trikuteshwara Temple’s intricate carvings to the whispering winds of Kappatagudda.

If you love ancient temple architecture, sacred caves, or simply crave the peaceful air with one of the best AQIs in India you cannot miss this place.

Just outside Gadag lies Kappatagudda.

Locals say every plant here has healing properties, and the very soil is rich in magnesium, which can even turn your feet slightly yellow after a long trek!

Once a sacred land where sages meditated, Kappatagudda is now known for its clean air, ranked second best in Asia as per local guides.

Visit early in the morning to witness a bed of clouds and a stunning sunrise.

A new trail is also being developed for trekking enthusiasts.Image

The Blue Flag is considered the most prestigious international certification for beaches, given by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), Denmark. It’s recognized in 50+ countries, so when a beach gets a Blue Flag, it’s seen as a world-class eco-friendly destination.

Interestingly, Goa - India’s most famous beach state - does not yet have a Blue Flag certified beach!Image

The most beautiful place in Southern India - Kalasa - a hidden paradise in the Western Ghats of Karnataka.

Waterfalls, Valleys, Temples, Misty peaks - this region is raw, untouched magic.

This beautiful town is in Chikmagalur District of Karnataka.

Here’s a thread on the best places to explore in and around Kalasa this monsoon! 1. Netravati Peak – Currently the best trekking place in the whole of Western Ghats. The view at the end of the trek is stunning, especially of the clouds hovering over the mountain walls.

This place shot to fame just three years ago after a drone pilot posted a viral reel on Instagram. Since then, the forest department set up a check post, introduced a ₹300 entry fee, and eventually banned drone usage.

What was earlier a 5+5 km trek is now extended to 7+7 km, as the check post has been moved 2 km farther back. The final 2.5 km stretch is a bit steep and tiring, but the rest of the trail is fairly easy.

You can refill your bottles from the Netravati River that flows through the trail. However, during peak monsoon, the river tends to overflow and trekking is banned.

In addition to ticket you have to pay 1000 to a guide and 2500 to Jeep driver.Image
