I worry that we are going to lose young talent due to toxic productivity culture in academia.
If you're a grad student or undergrad that is considering leaving academia because of the toxicity, here are things I want you to know. 1/6
Academic culture is changing. Overall, there is more of an understanding of work-life balance across academic disciplines.
Folks from diverse and less privileged backgrounds are leading this tone shift and need more like-minded trainees to enter the field to maintain it. 2/6

When I learned I would be teaching Comparative Anatomy online, I took the opportunity to revamp the whole thing. My "6 quizzes, 3 exams" approach seemed ineffective for online, and maybe ineffective in general.

This is a reminder that spaying and neutering your cats early in life has numerous health benefits for them, including way lower odds of mammary or testicular cancer.
(Don't read into this - our cats are fine. Just remembering the rescue we lost 4 years ago to mammary cancer)
