One of the biggest things I miss is the internet used to be an escape from meatspace. Now "internet is so ingrained everywhere there is no longer washed sense of escape. People don't say "g2g" or "ttyl" anymore because they never sign off The internet felt like one big collection of mom and pop shops & now they've been replaced by a mega Walmart. The transition from dial up to broadband was amazing, the internet still wasn't COMPLETELY mainstream. All of the sudden stuff that would take hours to load took seconds
