Moving companies every year or two is most definitely one of the best ways to increase your salary level.

Most tech companies are terrible about rewarding long-term employees with salary increases vs. with the salaries that they pay new hires.

On the average, hopping jobs every, say, 18 months will probably net you 30%-40% higher salary compared to staying at one job for 5 years.
