Summary thread of trailer leaks from a certain video (will be leaked down below). Video is in Spanish, my Spanish is not good enough to keep up well so... this is me transcribing the translations of third hand knowledge. The trailer that was shown at the event on Thursday was about a minute long, a person who does subtitles for HBO claims that the teaser shown to the public will probably be about a minute and a half long by the time it's done being edited.

bold of me to assume that the character who in the book asked for her brother to be questioned sharply... who in the show also called for her brother to be questioned sharply... might actually have meant what she said like that's what's so idiotic about people's arguments they act like Maegor is the only character to use the phrase meanwhile Rhaenyra uses it rather often and it's already been planted as a beat in the original version of the scene

I would argue that what they cut is not nearly so interesting as the flip flopping of characters sexualities and the differences in script vs how the character was actually portrayed the script puts a lot of emphasis on Rhaenyra having everything Alicent ever wanted, Alicent admires the status Rhaenyra has, these little needling threads of jealousy between them which don't make it into the show

I feel like we have (generally) so much evidence of Targaryen genes being dominant. So based on Nettles' appearance it feels like the only 'proof' we have of her being a dragonseed is her affinity for dragons. But we also know her bonding with her dragon was completely different. I don't feel like GRRM is the type of author who does anything on accident. Unless it's the horse gender thing or swapping eye colors. But narratively, it seems like everything can be read into.

it's also like... so Catelyn should be grateful that Ned forced her to live around Jon which is a scenario that basically no other lord would have ever put her through? this implication that Catelyn had it better than all the other ladies when it was the exact opposite

Thinking about how much I don’t like redemption arcs (generally speaking) @bookalys which isn't to say the characters aren't effected by their experiences and are the exact same people at the end but it's... idk, you just don't see it too often

I think saying Ned was stupid kind of oversimplifies it. Ned didn’t understand southern politics super well, but primarily he was moved by mercy. Ned was permanently scarred by what happens to Elia and her children, and Robert’s reaction or lack of reaction to it. He also no doubt was haunted by scenarios where Robert discovers Jon’s identity. He warned Cersei because it was the noble thing to do, he hoped she would go into exile and save her children from a horrific fate. It was a suggestion that might’ve worked with anyone but Cersei.

I would also venture to say that F&B directly refutes the notion that 14 = adult. But it and the world book include this passage Rhaenyra was born in 97 AC and comes of age in 113 AC. Arianne at 23 years old is 7 years past being a woman grown = 16 once again.

Once again I think it’s so dumb for people to blame Otto for his plan “failing” because Viserys decided to lose the plot Otto had a perfectly rational plan that would’ve worked in any other scenario than one in which a guy feels immense guilt after having his wife sawed in half that makes him commit to making his untrained daughter heir

There are so many reasons but let’s start with the first, Daemon. The whole point of Rhaenyra being heir was to prevent Daemon from siting the throne and gaining power— by marrying Daemon Rhaenyra has completely ruined the whole point of her being heir and endangers the realm. Two, inevitable succession crisis. Even if Rhaenyra took the throne smoothly attempting to seat a bastard on the throne (treason) will lead to civil war, a dance if you will between her own sons. That makes her no better than Viserys imo. And destabilizes the realm.

I'm currently rereading the world book and I feel like people often forget that the Andals fled to Westeros to escape the Valyrians just as the Rhoynish did I think it's important to consider how these groups fled the Valyrian Empire only for their descendants to be conquered by a Targaryen
