As a school of philosophy, Stoicism is based on four fundamental Cardinal Virtues:
- Wisdom
- Temperance
- Justice
- Courage
Marcus Aurelius believed these virtues are essential to living a happy, fulfilling, morally correct & balanced life.
Let’s explore the fundamentals👇🏼🧵
Cardinal Virtue #1: Wisdom
"The chief task in life is simply this:
to identify and separate matters so that I can say clearly to myself which are externals not under my control, and which have to do with the choices I actually control."
— Epictetus
According to the Stoics, wisdom is about making decisions based on knowledge about how you can influence the things around you.
Stoics believe that, first of all, you must differentiate between things under your control and those that are not.
Wisdom is an instrument to divide life into three parts: good, bad, and indifferent:
1. Good involves actions based on virtues. They saw virtue as the only true good, with everything else being indifferent or bad.
2. Bad is anything non-virtuous, like lying to avoid responsibility, being lazy or greedy, and ignoring justice for personal gain.
3. Indifferent covers things like money, possessions,
and fame. These aren't inherently good or bad but can be used either way.
True Stoic wisdom is to feel indifferent about things you can't control and to focus your efforts on the things you have influence over.

Why is the SEC asking Coinbase to remove every cryptocurrency except for Bitcoin?⚠️
Is the US banning crypto to pave the way for an ambitiously early acceptance of Bitcoin?🧐
🧵Time for a thread exploring this & why Bitcoin is not just "some other altcoin.''👇🧵
1/
🚫 The SEC chair, Gary Gensler, has repeatedly stated Bitcoin is the only coin he considers 100% not a security.
🪙 This is because Bitcoin's fully decentralized & it's not tied to any single entity.
✅ This makes Bitcoin more like a commodity, or ''digital gold.''
