This tweet has layers and has left me contemplating because it could mean three different things (a thread 🧵) On the one hand it could be a light hearted joke about how I was wrong for throwing the penguin of the ledge. Just a funny little joke. Nothing more.

Biblically, for this long standing tradition of the “intercession of saints” to make sense we need to be able to know that:

1. The saints are alive
2. The saints & angels are aware of what’s happening on earth
3. The saints & angels in heaven pray for us

What does the Bible say about this?
So what does scripture say?

1. The saints are alive

Some people will object to saints being able to pray for us because they have passed away. However, scripture is clear that the saints are alive in Christ. I will attach a few verses that show that the saints are alive without any commentary and let the scriptures speak for themselves.

“Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.”
Luke 20:37-38 KJV

“Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me. And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth. Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:”
John 8:49-54 KJV

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
John 11:25-26 KJV

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24 KJV

“And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.”
Revelation 5:13-14 KJV
