In this thread, I'd like to prove to you that what Israel is doing in Gaza is premeditated slaughter that preceded October 7 by decades.

I will use quotes from zionist colonizers themselves.

1. Calls to ensure the total subjugation, decimation, and humiliation of the native population.

“We shall reduce the Arab population to a community of woodcutters and waiters”—Uri Lubrani, PM Ben-Gurion’s special adviser on Arab Affairs, 1960.

“When we have settled the land, all the Arabs will be able to do about it will be to scurry around like drugged cockroaches in a bottle.”—Raphael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defence Forces, New York Times, 14 April 1983.

“We have to kill all the Palestinians unless they are resigned to live here as slaves.”  Chairman Heilbrun of the Committee for the Re-election of General Shlomo Lahat, the mayor of Tel Aviv, October 1983.

"[The Palestinians] would be crushed like grasshoppers … heads smashed against the boulders and walls."—Yitzhak Shamir in 1988: 2. Calls to Make Life Miserable to Cause “Voluntary Migration”

Joseph Weitz, 1940: "We must do everything to ensure they never return... not one village, not one tribe must be left."

Rehavam Ze’evi, 2001: "We must encourage them to leave. We must make life so difficult for them that they will want to leave."

Moshe Feiglin, 2014: "We must encourage emigration from Gaza. We must make it clear that there is no future for them here."

Bezalel Smotrich, 2023: "We should offer emigration packages to Palestinians in Gaza. It's the humane solution."

Moshe Feiglin 2014: “Gaza is part of Israel, and should remain as such forever...that strip of land should become part of sovereign Israel to be populated by Jews...Israel should invest a lot of money...so in 10-15 years the Arab population in Gaza will be much smaller.”

in this thread, I present a brief exchange, which I feel illuminates the nature of Israel's "left."

it began with a mass mailing to a group from @gershonbaskin (I'm not sure how I got on this list in the first place).

the email was entitled "How Palestinians can help end the war in Gaza." the text of how Palestinians are supposed to end the genocide being committed against them follows: "It is very clear that the Palestinians want an immediate end to the war in Gaza and it is essential that it ends now. The main contribution that the Palestinians can make to speed up the end of the war is to ensure that Hamas will not be ruling Gaza when the war is over. To my understanding, this can only happen with the establishment of a civilian, professional, technocrat government, headed by someone appointed by Mahmoud Abbas, but independent from Abbas. The continuation of the Fatah-Hamas unity talks which were recently held in Cairo is a waste of time because Hamas rejects a government controlled by Fatah as much as Fatah rejects a government head by Hamas. There are only a couple of Palestinian individuals who have the ability and the legitimacy to form a Palestinian government in Gaza which would be independent, clean, and aspires for peace with Israel based on two states established on the basis of the June 4, 1967 lines and is committed to bringing about the end of the occupation without the use of violence. Furthermore, the individuals that could head the government of Gaza that I know,  recognize that the Gaza government is temporary for as long is necessary (24-36 months) to create enough stability to conduct democratic elections for a unified Palestinian government with territorial integrity of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza.  A primary condition for Israel to end the war, and that would generate the political force in Israel to demand that Israel withdraws from all of Gaza begins with Hamas not ruling Gaza after the war.  Releasing all of the hostages is another Israeli condition for ending the war. These things must be done in order for this horrific war to finally end. The Palestinians themselves can move forward on the Gaza governance issue without any negotiations with Israel.  This is entirely a Palestinian issue, and if they do it well, they will gain the support of the entire world which is absolutely necessary for the reconstruction of Gaza.
