Trump is the World's Worst Negotiator because:

1/18 He started 130 negotiations at once. That makes it impossible to conduct any of them well.

2/18 He rushed the tariffs in. That gave US companies no time to prepare/soften the impact.

3/18 These rushed tariffs hurt the US more than anyone else. They're a tax on US consumers and have taken US GDP growth predictions from from 2.7% to 1.8% (so far).

4/18 He then imposed a 90-day collective deadline on everyone. That means no one has an incentive to be the first to make a deal since as the deadline nears, Trump is most likely to fold as the consequences mount up.

5/18 At the end of the 90-day deadline, if there's no deal, ...

(5/18 cont.)...the US is cut off from the world but the world carries on, so it's like pointing a shotgun at your own foot then threatening to pull the trigger if you don't get a deal.

6/18. He and his team frequently lie about the state of negotiations. E.g. they claim to have deals ready to go, but then they don't. They have destroyed the US's credibility. Credibility is essential for negotiations.

7/18. They don't know what they want (hence even Japan walking out). It's impossible to get what you want if you don't know what you want.

8/18. He threw away his negotiation leverage (network of alliances) before starting negotiations. If you want a good deal, more leverage is good. Doing this guarantees a worse deal.

I've been very bearish on "metaverse" in general as a concept.

But there is one factor that could change it, and give all those metaverse startups a chance.

If all UIs disappear in favour of just having conversations with AIs, then it *MIGHT* make sense... Maybe.

See, one of my counter-arguments against Metaverse has been that people's activities happen in a competitive context. So being more efficient, faster, processing more information at once, anything that gives you an edge, is valuable.

Right now that's a mouse and keyboard.
