We all have the intuition that our brain makes us unique.

In our new article published today in @NatureComms, we show that seconds of brain activity captured w/ ms temporal resolution are sufficient to differentiate b/w individuals over weeks, months & even years. 1/ Image The project started when @neurohazardous visited @misicbata & myself in 2018 for an internship sponsored by the @NSERC_CRSNG CREATE program for Complex Dynamics in Brain & Behavior in the context of his Masters at @McMasterU. 2/

New paper out today!

Case report of aperiodic fluctuations in a rare ictal MEG recording of pediatric drug-resistant epilepsy.

Entirely driven by Saskia van Heumen who visited us virtually from @tudelft over last summer, in collab w/ JT Moreau & @HopitalChildren RWR Dudley.
1/ We performed a rare, 4h overnight MEG recording in an 8-yo w/ drug-resistant focal epilepsy & captured one ~45-s seizure. The patient underwent a selective right anterior temporal resection and remains seizure-free 21 months postoperatively.

New paper out today @NeuroImage_EiC

That's right: simultaneous tDCS & MEG to demonstrate causal role of right, not left, auditory cortex in pitch learning.

Another great collab. w/ @zatorrelab driven by Reiko Matsushita & Sebastian Puschmann.

A thread. The goal was to show that pitch learning was inhibited by applying transcranial electrical stimulation (tDCS) over right vs. left auditory cortex.

The neurophysiological effects caused by tDCS were characterized via simultaneous MEG imaging!
