Chamba Kailash or the Manimahesh Kailash is a much revered peak in Manimahesh Ranges of Himachal Pradesh. Like the Kailash Manasarovar in Tibet, it is believed that this peak can't be climbed. However that's not true. In 1968, an Indo-Japaense team tried to climb this peak. Whether they succeeded or not, remained a controversial topic for many years. Harish Kapadia, the then Chief Editor of The Himalayan Journal didn't believe that this peak was climbed at all.
