@ahess247@robertcathey@AP So, here's the short version (thread): Months before election, analysts begin studying historic voting patterns in assigned states, researching candidates, researching local election rules, studying polls, practicing using models, etc.
@ahess247@robertcathey@AP At AP, we met weekly for 3 hours several months ahead of election, often running 'mock' elections using test data. Some weeks, systems would deliberately fail so we can test backup, rollover systems.
