1) One of my first memories was seeing this sign: ๐Ÿ‘ˆWhites Coloreds๐Ÿ‘‰. My schools were segregated until I was in 6th grade. The Klan used to set up their tent right beside the church we belonged to. I remember my father, a realtor at the time, explaining to my mother how they 2) were still able to deny selling houses to blacks in white neighborhoods. The lines between the white & black neighborhoods may as well have been chiseled in stone, the differences were so stark. I hear far too many say "ancient history, times were different, why bring this up?
