This evening, while driving the 44 O’Shaughnessy, I picked up a passenger at Silver and San Bruno. She came onto the bus and asked me if I could help her. She told me that her husband was in the UCSF Parnassus Emergency Room and someone told her she could take the 44 to another bus to get there. “But I don’t know how. Can you help me?”

While working today I had an idea that would make muni service quicker and more reliable, bus stops safer and more accessible, and would bring some needed fun to both muni operators and transit riders alike. I offer this idea for free to @jeffreytumlin and SFMTA. Best of all, this would be not just cheap to implement, it would be a huge moneymaker, a reliable source of ongoing operational revenue for the agency. I think it would also grab positive attention and press nationally, and might help with recruitment.

Today I'll be driving the 23 Monterey from 2:30pm to 10:45pm. Come find me and I'll give you this poem on request! mc-allen.com/poetry/muni-po… The 23 Monterey does not currently go all the way to Ocean Beach, which is a shame for applicability of my poem.
