With multiple overriding narratives on arrest of #Arnab facts on paper become all the more imp. Managed to get the closure report filed by Raigad police last year which gives reasons why they closed the case. Officer who filed it though faces enquiry +
indianexpress.com/article/cities… Naik's family has PI Varade tried to get the case closed. Varade in the closure report has had three main grounds for closing the case
1) Naik's firm was in losses since 2013-14. Arnab's contract was signed in 2016
2) The three persons named in suicide note not linked in any way+

Anvay Naik's family: We are happy with Arnab Goswami's arrest. There was a lot of pressure on us to close the case from the police earlier. Husband e-mailed Arnab asking to return money and that it was matter of life and death for him. He didn't meet our father @IndianExpress We were asked to sign on a statement saying we want to take the complaint against Arnab back. When we said this is not what we want & tried to take a photograph of the statement, officer Varde quickly took the note away from us. We informed the Raigad SP about the mischief
