Je comprends que les gens soient frustrés que nous soyons encore dans cette pandémie.

Nous avons fait tant de sacrifices.

Quand je tiens ma fille dans mes bras, je pense à la possibilité de traverser cette épreuve en toute sécurité, et qu'on retrouve une vie normale. Je suis préoccupé par la rhétorique dangereuse que nous avons vue de la part du convoi.

Et par les éléments extrémistes qui diffusent de fausses informations et tentent de transformer le convoi en une version canadienne des attaques terroristes contre le Capitole américain.

I understand people are frustrated that we’re still in this pandemic.

We've sacrificed so much.

When I hold my daughter, I think about getting through this safely - so that kids can have normalcy again.

And, I'm concerned by the dangerous rhetoric we’ve seen from the convoy. I am concerned by extremist elements that are spreading misinformation and attempting to turn the convoy into a Canadian version of the terrorist attacks on the US Capitol.

That is not the Canada our children deserve to grow up in.

We must not and cannot allow it to be.

Canadians are trying to recover from the pandemic.

People still need help as they continue to struggle to get back on their feet.

Now more than ever, they need a govt who will work for them.

PM Trudeau must move past empty words and symbolic gestures and act to help Canadians. Today's Throne Speech has made two things very clear about PM Trudeau's priorities:

- He has abandoned Pharmacare after 3 decades of promises; &
- He has offered no support to workers in the transition away from fossil fuels.

But this isn't about me - it's about systemic racism in the halls of power and having the courage to confront it
