I watched James Lindsay on Joe Rogan for three hours and I learned some stuff, like Boeing is intentionally using DEI to commit suicide in order to make space for a Chinese competitor because the WEF is maoist China is transing our kids because it's part of their neoliberal Maoist worldview as espoused by Deng Xiaoping

This interview is actually quite funny. Bjorn Lomborg talks about five different causes we should put money towards (instead of climate change). Bret, who thinks we shouldn't be mitigating climate change, also shoots down all five causes, each for a different conspiracy reason Bjorn Lomborg says we should provide tablets with literacy software to children in developing countries

Bret says no; the bad guys will use those tablets to deliver propaganda to the children

Sadly Sam Harris and Eric Weinstein's Triggernometry episode today was all about Israel/Palestine😭 Please do not construe this thread as being about geopolitics - this thread is about Weinsteinology πŸ™

What it's like to talk to Eric Weinstein: Also I paid 7 of my human dollars to Konstantin Motherfucking Kisin in order to watch the bonus Q&A where they talk about Bret πŸŽ‰

Turns out that while Sam thinks Bret is mostly wrong about the pandemic, his main beef is that Bret supports Alexandros Marinos...

Fun moments on DarkHorse Podcast episode 183:

1/ Bret has discovered Nazi Twitter, and is appalled to discover his friends from Covid Contrarian twitter there.

Do they not understand that genocide is bad? Bret does, because he wrote a paper about it in college. 2/ Heather responds by noticing a tendency among her friends on transphobe twitter to believe oddly regressive things like "women shouldn't be allowed to vote."

(this is of course woke people's fault)

RFK Jr.: "A willingness to look at contrary evidence and to recognize that I'm wrong is part of my makeup. If you can show me data that shows people that get the covid vaccine are more likely to live and have healthier lives, I will fold my tent.” This interview is from 2021 (Bret just released it yesterday for some reason).

I love how empty this rhetoric is. OK, two years have passed. Piles of studies have shown the covid vaccines cause decreased mortality and decreased all-cause mortality.

1/ My new follower and inveterate moron @briebriejoy tweeted this yesterday:

"I read up on the RFK Jr. autism stuff over the course of a 3 hour train ride and now I'm ready to "debate." Honestly don't see why folks are so squeamish."

Then she interviewed RFK with 0 pushback. 2/ Here are some things she could have said.

RFK Jr: "It would have been more effective to give people even Vitamin D."

No. Vitamin D supplementation shows no protective effect against covid or severe outcomes in randomized trials. (e.g. bmj.com/content/378/bm…).

1/ I watched Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Joe Rogan yesterday and it gave me an opportunity to look into some of the "old-school" antivax claims.

First Joe Rogan let's us know that he used to think RFK Jr. was "kinda loony", but now he's a true believer in RFK's antivax claims. 2/ Before getting into vaccine stuff, did you know RFK Jr. also believes that cell phones and WiFi give you cancer, damage your mitochondria and give you "leaky brain?" That's the kind of guy we are dealing with.

Checking in with John Campbell. God he is shameless.

Feigned outrage over a Phase 1 clinical trial with 50 participants for mRNA flu vaccine.

Yah... that's how big Phase 1 clinical trials are. He very intentionally never gives the audience context for what a phase 1 trial is lol here's John Campbell on December 19th, 2020 in a video called "excellent vaccine news" where he seems to know full well how large a Phase I clinical trial should be

How to make clips of Eric Weinstein's appearance on Joe Rogan today? 4 hours of consistent insanity, and everything he says is buried under three layers of narcissistic Weinstein lore. Well here's an attempt anyway.

1/ Eric now thinks the UFOs really are aliens 2/ Lots of talk of his theory of everything (GU) being our only hope of getting us off this planet by giving us the power to traverse extra time dimensions. So why isn't Elon consulting with him!?

Top 5 Most Epic Jordan Peterson Moments of 2022!

#5: JBP explains to Andy Ngo that at the core of Antifa member's evil hearts is the drive for "revenge against God for the crime of Being." Then he starts crying. #4: JBP took a bunch of psilocybin and saw his own DNA

1/ Ron DeSantis had a "Vaccine Accountability Roundtable" today where he assembled various scientists (and Bret Weinstein) who have been instrumental and generating antivax talking points throughout the pandemic.
twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1… 2/ They spent a lot of discussion complaining that the pandemic response was compromised because of the degree to which they have been censored, which I find ironic considering the outsized popularity these figures enjoy compared to the quality and impact of their papers.

lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Alongside the obvious candidates, the list includes Christine Benn who wrote one of the dumbest preprints of the pandemic which suggests that the non-mRNA vaccines have magical non-specific beneficial effects which reduce your non-covid mortality by 30%!

Darkhorse Episode 152!

1) Bret is coming around on the idea that HIV doesn't cause AIDS. He has realized it's not such an easy idea to dismiss. 2) Kanye has been talking about how much he loves Hitler. Bret's take is this just proves how twitter should have absolute free speech (so we know who loves hitler). I'll give you one guess what Heather's take on Kanye's antisemitism is. That's right. The problem is trans people.

DarkHorse 151!

1/ Bret has some advice for Sam Harris about [checks notes] intellectual honesty and having the humility to change your mind. 2/ Bret thinks he exhibits these traits because he has often updated his Covid views. Frequent viewers may notice that in almost every case he's changed his mind to be more in line with the RW conspiracy theory community. e.g. "I realized Hydroxychloroquine works!"

1/ My favorite moments from Lex's interview with Jordan Peterson today πŸ™ƒ

He has an amazing new talking point that he brings up twice - "what is matter? Matter is *what matters*" 🀯

then he starts crying 2/ He gives us some brief insight into the creative process that allows him to come up with these deep word thoughts

Eric unblocked me, presumably because he wanted to see how I would react to his stupidest thread yet Well I'm not taking the bait. What am I, some kind of "Weinstein Reply Guy?" No, sorry, I'm too busy accomplishing great things to earn Bret's respect

How does he do it!? Every video he says something stupider than the last. I can't believe it!

In this video "Message to CEOs," Jordan Peterson reveals that he has one of the most basic possible misunderstandings of economics. He doesn't know about externalities. He spends most of this video complaining that CEOs aren't interested enough in maximizing profit. He has some advice for CEOs:

- Stop being communists
- Stop making kids transition

1/ A new paper from Singapore today shows 80% vaccine effectivity against hospitalization for kids 5-12.

Conservatively, 13x as many kids were hospitalized with Covid than experienced a severe adverse event from the vaccine.

Let's see how John Campbell spins it. 2/ His main trick in this video is to ignore Covid hospitalizations as much as possible and focus only on the number of kids who were put on oxygen (5). He compares this directly to the number of severe adverse events reported to Singapore's Health Sciences Authority (22).

1/ As a Californian, can't wait for my next opportunity to vote for Michael Shellenberger, friend of Dave Rubin, Chris Rufo and Steve Kirsch, who sat down for a friendly chat with Bret recently.

Bret: I disagree with Vinay Prasad on "the wisdom of vaccinating *anybody*" 2/ Just posting this to document an increment in my derangement as I recount every time people have told me "he's just against one-size-fits-all solutions! He's just against mandates! He's just against vaccinating healthy young adults!"

1/ So... Jordan Peterson thinks that not only is Russia attacking Ukraine because the US is 'degenerate,' but that they are justified in doing so. This is getting kind of scary, and not just because of the supervillain routine he's doing in his vids lately. 2/ To explain why Russia is attacking Ukraine, he goes on a long diatribe about Ketanji Brown Jackson. He complains about Biden looking for a black woman and that she wouldn't answer the question "what is a woman."

1/ I read the article looking for something to dunk on David Fuller about, but nothing raised my hackles too badly so instead I'll just say a bunch of my opinions.

I think people should be extremely skeptical of public intellectuals. No one can produce enough 2/ original, true, and interesting research to be interesting for more than an hour or so per year. So the job selects for narcissistic charlatans (read: Weinsteins) with godly talents for speaking in a way that's entrancing. It doesn't hurt to be shameless about stepping out
