The Land Reform Bill has been published. ScotGov have partially accepted that 3,000 hectares was far too high a lower limit for regulating "large landholdings" but they've only reduced it to 1,000ha rather than the 500ha we and others called for.

parliament.scot/-/media/files/… My legalese isn't great and I'm unsure about the language around multiple landholdings. I /think/ a "large landowner" can't duck the regs by splitting their estate into 2+ <1000ha chunks.

Not sure if the Bill covers someone who owns 2+ entirely separate estates totaling 1000ha+. Image

!!Urgent!!

The latest Scottish Indy White Paper makes no mention of Scotland signing the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, despite detailed discussion of other treaties that an indy Scotland could sign. This cannot be an oversight.

Image The section on a nuclear-free Scotland calls for the removal of UK nukes being based here but without TPNW, this leaves open the possibility of NATO nukes "visiting" or transiting through the country or Scotland assisting in the development and deployment of nukes.
