Last GW marked some sort of return for the main man. A goal and two bonus points helped him end with 8. But even that didn't justify his 15M price tag.

City lost again midweek to Juventus and there are no signs of improvement as much as Pep might want toImage

Let's. Get. Started.Image Newcastle United vs Liverpool

xG (1.97 vs 1.69)

- A game which in all fairness ended with the correct scoreline. Both teams played well and deserved a point at the least. Newcastle took the lead with an Isak screamer which was followed by Salah special and he rescued Liverpool once again this season all on his own. A late equalizer from Newcastle and it ended 3-3

- Newcastle started the first half on top and pressed Liverpool really well, excellent. Stifled Liverpool's ability to build out from the back. Thereafter, Liverpool's misery was further compounded by not winning the aerial duels or second balls in the first half. They missed a lot of chances and it could have genuinely been a lot more from Isak. He is a very good option going forward. Gordon had a good couple of moments. Their defence isn't good and we would stay away.

- It was one of those games were Liverpool didn't really play well but thanks to their EGYPTIAN HERO, they can go home with a point. Gomez and Quansah aren't really good players and showed us why. Kelleher had his first bad game in a while and could have done well twice. Liverpool’s attacking flourished, with Salah more central and working around Núñez, as Alexander-Arnold repeatedly advanced. TAA came on in the second half and showed us why he is the premium defender. SALAH is the FPL KING and needs to be in the HALL OF FAME.Image

Let's. Get. Started.Image Liverpool vs Manchester City

xG (3.53 vs 0.80)

- Another game and another disappointing performance by Pep's team. Feel its a habit now and whenever we cover Manchester City we start with disappointment. 7 games without a win now and 7 games without a clean sheet. Okay, let's give City this one because they haven't been keeping clean sheets since last season but how disappointing has their attack been this season? Awful. Liverpool, on the other hand, were brilliant and Gravenberch and VVD especially were amazing yesterday. Salah's continued his rich form with yet another goal and an assist and delivered the final chokeslam.

- Let's start with VVD because he had a massive game and humbled Haaland as well as dominated most set pieces. He really played well alongside Trent who was on fire as well. He got in a lot of good position, especially because of City's non existing midfield. Salah's assist was a thing of beauty as he and Gakpo caught Walker sleeping yet again. Salah's creative game has gone up a notch which makes him an even better FPL asset. Overall, a very energetic performance from Liverpool.

- Haaland was lost. Absolutely nothing from him. ZERO contribution in the whole game. Pocketed, humbled and taught to be respectful. His other team members were taught a similar story as well. Silva was playing as a CDM which was astonishing. Rico Lewis played and ran like a kid once again with no physicality. The downside of Foden needs to be studied. He has been so so so bad this season after winning the player of the season in 2023/24. City tried to have more control in the second half but didn't make anything of it. City were dominated and the different in quality was enormous. As much as Pep tries to stay positive, IT's NOT LOOKING GOOD BRUH.Image

Let's. Get. Started.Image Manchester City vs Spurs

xG (2.30 vs 2.73)

- After asking the league runners up to stay humble, it's rather been a humbling experience for the Champions themselves. 5 losses on a trot. It's not the loss that's painful, it's the way they way have been playing. Manchester City did generate a lot of chances (23) in this match, but they weren’t clinical enough - though credit must also go to Vicario for his crucial saves.

- Haaland had 3 good chances from which he tried, but couldn't convert. Bernardo Silva seems lost and is more focused on getting the ball back and hitting opponent players. Foden has been a shadow of what he was last season - poor performance for 3 games now. Rico Lewis is being pushed aside as easily as our 6 year old cousin. Walker is old and can't run anymore. Gundogan hasn't had one good game since joining back from Barcelona. And then there is Pep who seems too proud of his way of playing and not changing things up when it's not working. 5 consecutive losses is poor. Very very poor finishing. KDB came on for the final 10 mins and created 2 chances quickly. His return should help the team in avoiding the 6th loss. City were actually good in the first 12 minutes but Spurs scored with their first attack. Poor from Gvardiol who didn't stop Kulusevski's cross and Gundogan failed to track Maddison's run. City conceded first again - happened way too often this season and then it went all downhill.

- Madders was ready for a big game as per Ange and big game he did have on his birthday. He was stunning and very calm and composed in finishing those two chances (especially the second goal). Kuluselvski had another game and kept bullying Gvardiol throughout the game. Ben Davies had a good game and kept himself very close to Haaland throughout the game. Porro also scored another good goal and ended with a 14-pointer.Image

Let's. Get. Started.Image Bournemouth vs Manchester City

xG (2.09 vs 1.64)

- One of the worst performances that we have personally seen from City for a long, long time. Semenyo and Evanilson helped give Bournemouth their first ever league win against City after being defeated heavily in the last couple of seasons. City's 32-game PL unbeaten run also comes to an end after the disastrous game. There are many theories on how to beat City but Bournemouth chose the one where they were not defensive, yet be audacious, hardworking and were very fun to watch.
- Bournemouth have been superb at home, winning their third home game in the row, having already beaten Arsenal. Semenyo was as always the most dangerous player on the field and he turned to fire in at the far post inside the first 10 mins. He is an absolute hold in terms of FPL with good fixtures coming. Evanlison added a second to win it for the hosts. They were solid in defense and held on for a big win and need to be discussed more going forward as they aren't a team to be targeted in defence any more. Kerkez had a brilliant game and assisted both goals. He was leaving a lot of space for City wingers though but they couldn't exploit that. They could have had more, a lot more in the first half catching City on the counter. They pressed so well and recoegnised when to jump and when to sit back and thoroughly deserved the win.
- City were toothless in attack with little to no creativity from anyone in their attack except Nunes and Doku who did well after coming on. They had 18 shots in total with only 4 on target and missed all 4 big chances. Haaland was nowhere to be spotted until the last few mins where he looked like scoring and hit the post as well. Foden also came close to scoring in the ending mins as his shot just went past the Bournemouth goal. Gvardiol, as always, was higher up on the left flank and scored another good header from Gundogan's cross. Walker was a disaster - probably his worst game ever. He was easily being outrun by the Bournemouth wingers and his passing and position was nowhere better. This is good news though for Rico Lewis owners. Doku and Savinho were on the bench which means they would be in contention for the next game. KDB was also on the bench but looked to be not ready at all as he didn't even warm up during the game. Without Rodri, City lack a holding presence in the midfield and it was clearly visible. Nunes had a good game but lacks 1 on 1 finishing. Defence just keeps on conceding and aren't fit too. In short, a terrible game from the champions.Image

Let's. Get. Started.Image Manchester City vs Arsenal

- A game of two halves. It started on a surprising note which none of us expected - both teams were going end to end and were matching the intensity. Rodri's injury didn't do City any good & Arsenal started to dominate.
- Trossard's red card affected the entire game & changed the approach as Arteta decided to become prime Mourinho Chelsea (minus leaving open spaces near their box every time) It was understandable as they were leading and were a man down. But you could just sense that a City goal would come with City having more than 85% possession in second half.
- Rico Lewis didn't start which favoured Gvardiol & he was as attacking as we have seen him this season. Probably, Pep wanted to limit Martinelli but it was Walker's (and the ref's :P) mistake that led to the Arsenal goal. Whenever Walker starts with Gvardiol, it benefits Gvardiol as an FPL asset. Wouldn't be put off as a Lewis owner, still a great pick.
- Foden was benched again and he still doesn't become an option on Wildcard. We will have to wait and watch until his first start which suggests that going Haaland is the only way to enter the City attack (which makes sense as well as he is at the end of all attacks). He taunted every one who didn't captain him with yet another well taken goal.
- Gabriel is a giant on set pieces and Raya is a massive keeper. He got 9 saves yesterday as well and kept Arsenal in the game. Gabriel + Raya + Saka is the way to go for Arsenal.Image

- Southampton had a great start to the game and were dominating for the first 25 mins until they missed the penalty (should have been leading 2-0 by then)
- Momentum shifted and United scored just 2 mins later and completely changed the game
- United assets are still an avoid from FPL perspective (they do not have a single focal point - points getting divided)
- Do not trust United defence (pretty lucky to get a clean sheet)
