1/5 Modern text processing:

- Write in light markup (Markdown or reStructuredText)
- Pandoc for markup processing
- PDF generation with XeTeX
- Make to call tools
- Git repository for history/collaboration
- For books one file per chapter
- Use semantic linefeeds

Thank me later 2/5 Semantic linefeeds:

"Start each sentence on a new line. Make lines short, and break lines at natural places, such as after commas and semicolons, rather than randomly."

(fun fact: Brian W. Kernighan came up with this in 1974)

1/13 Todays start of the year discussion with my beloved Bitcoin Maximalists made me realize something I never understood before:

Why did Bitcoin become so toxic?

Why do Bitcoiners seem to take pride in being toxic?

Why so little rational discussions?

2/13 Thesis:

Toxicity is the consensus mechanism in Bitcoin.

1/9 Cryptoanarchy is the realization of anarchy (as in "no ruler/coercion") by means of cryptography, it undermines observation and attribution, and is ultimately subversive.

Technologies of non-attribution, untraceability, opaqueness and confidentiality are its political tools. 2/9 The mission for cryptoanarchy is to build an unobservable and non-attributable economy from scratch.

This needs untraceable anonymous digital cash (commerce) and anonymous messaging via mix networks (communicaton) running on secure devices (a platform).
