Just saw an old interview clip where Arundathi Roy talks about how the poor is erased from popular culture and cinema as opposed to pre 90's cinema where the poor is romanticized. And she blames Globalisation for this. This obsession with romanticising poverty is the reason why middle class Indians find it difficult to get out of the poverty mindset. Somehow it makes Indians believe that there is humility in poverty and heropanti in staying poor.

This drink could kill your child.

As new parents, we constantly worry about what we're feeding our child and most often torture ourselves thinking about if we're feeding them right. We are made to feel guilty for every piece of chocolate or sip of juice we give them. We try to protect them from everything junk, just for a little longer. What then, can we do, when our child falls sick BECAUSE of something which we think is prescribed by our trusted doctor?

This whole #AfreenFatima episode is an orchestrated one to divert and confuse the common man. A short thread. 🧵

📌First, the likes of Zubair, Rana, Saba and other liberals provoked people against #NupurSharma.
📌But in an unexpected move, she was suspended by the BJP. 📌Even after the suspension, the mobs that were provoked by the liberals couldn't be controlled or contained.
📌People started screaming for her blood.
📌The liberals who incited the mobs slowly started distancing themselves from what was happening.

A thread on how anti-India sentiments are subliminally injected into the common man's mind 👇🏽🧵

I had to take a test as a part of an interview with a huge MNC. The company uses a third-party talent acquisition and management company for conducting the test. This test comprised of three sections - English grammar and comprehension, logical reasoning and an essay composition. Now, as a part of the comprehension test, there were two short pieces on India.

How casual Hindu bashing is propagated - a thread: Until this morning, I was a part of a WhatsApp group where generally things related to writing and literature are discussed. Few days back someone asked why ppl say Om Shanti and Om Sadgati these days. Few ppl in the group, including me explained why we say this. As a response, the person who asked the question casually stated that she was worried about how Hindu-washed we were becoming. And then she said, "but I don't want to start anything, so thank you for explaining".
