Anyone else notice this?
In the last two weeks there has been an unrelenting drive to put China in a positive light.
A couple of days ago, my mentions were full of bots who were doing the same.
Yes, China has some beautiful cities and can produce great fireworks but it tramples all over the rights of citizens.
In the last two years alone, they have gone from 416 million surveillance cameras to 700 million.
It is the most surveilled nation on the planet and broadcasts live footage from cameras on TV, so normal citizens can watch and report people who do something “wrong”.
Their facial recognition abilities are beyond anything that we have and people are prevented from doing simple things like taking a train if they have done something unacceptable to the government.

This is a travesty.
A teacher takes a cartoon of Muhammad to his classroom.
Muslims have a meltdown and insist he is fired for “blasphemy”. This is not his religion and maybe Muslims missed the UK’s turbulent history on blasphemy laws that our ancestors fought to overcome.
