🧵We need a better process of quality assurance from water companies & a stronger audit from the EA.

Detailed data comparing timings of spills with flow-to-full treatment & rainfall highlights CSOs that are highly likely to be spilling illegally. However, we can’t be sure of this because there are still so many mistakes and gaps in the data being used to draw those conclusions.

🚨News klaxon 🚨

This afternoon, Defra published its Storm Overflows Reduction Plan. This plan is supposed to be a major step towards eliminating sewage pollution from our rivers, but we think it's still too little, too late.
