📝 Lessons learned today:

As a Software engineer, learning how to introduce yourself and communicating what you do clearly can make a lot of difference in your career.

If you ever need to talk about yourself via DM or email, here are 4 tips I discovered:

👇🏼 Thread ✅ Talk about your success

Share your experience or background, and what you've achieved recently that you're proud of. Add links or references to back up your claim 🔗

"I have been developing..."
"My background is ..."
"I specialize in..."

These are good ways to start.

I’m very excited to share my latest project, Chakra UI. A React-based Component Library.

I’ve created over 40+ composable and accessible components to help you create React apps and website with speed.

Check it out here: chakra-ui.com This component library is heavily inspired by TailwindCSS, Styled System, Reach UI and Atomic Design Principles by Brad Frost.

Key Goals in Chakra UI:
✅ Theming Support
✅ Composable (Atomic Design)
✅ Accessible
✅ Dark Mode

Most of the time, I think UI design is a solved problem.

There are existing design solutions to most design problems and tell be good to a single place where one can find actually design files and code for common components like buttons, forms, tabs, etc. More like an open source library of sketch and Figma files for common UI components, and a code repository that matches the open source designs, written in React, Vue and HTML/CSS with accessibility built in.

My journey from UX Design => Frontend Development
I recently challenged myself to create an open source React component library as a way to help me master some React and Javascript concepts. Turns out it's such an ambitious goal 🤣. #IrespectDevelopersMehn Step 1: Had to learn the foundations of React, hooks, controlled and uncontrolled components.

Step 2: Had to figure out how to set up a project for open source development and contribution.

💡 Thought Provoking Advice from Elon Musk's ex-wife 🔥

Question: Will I become a billionaire if I am determined and put in all the necessary work required?

Her answer [THREAD] 👇🏼
No. You're determined and hardworking, so what? Shift your focus away from what you want (a billion dollars) and get deeply, intensely curious about what the world wants and needs. Ask yourself what you have the potential to offer that is so unique and compelling that no computer could replace you, no one could outsource you.
