Laughing so hard at this..mostly because I know I'm answering 'Um, yes'

Currently coding/designing Llama Life's app onboarding

The idea is to personalize a user's Settings before they get started, so they get value from the app sooner. So tailoring Settings based on answers... Will update progress here. Got 2 hours left before my dinner date with a friend.

Have added next question...

Omg my heart is pounding.

Someone has shamelessly ripped off Llama Life.

The UI, the features, the NAMES of features. They haven't even tried to be different.

I put my heart & soul into making Llama Life. Not sure what to do, very upset right now ๐Ÿ™

Hey all, so BIG news. Still processing but wanted to share...

Llama Life has raised a pre-seed funding round!

Was originally US$650k but due to demand it got oversubscribed to $690k ๐Ÿคฏ

Led by Black Sheep Capital (@CapitalSheep) with additional investment from @Jason Calacanis! Image Absolute bonkers as I never started Llama Life thinking that I'd raise money.

Bootstrapped it to 700+ paying customers as a solo founder after teaching myself to code 2yrs ago.

It started off as a way to practice my coding skills and all the stuff I'd been learning...

Also check out the rest of the list - crazy good websites that @stephsmithio has curated. They're all worth the time - super interesting stuff.

Hats off to all the creators - simply amazing ๐Ÿ˜ฎ @stephsmithio As I move my mouse round I'm totally getting these vibes...

PS how good was this game? lol

.@stripe payouts from the last 3 weeks (in Australian dollars) ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Black Friday promotions were totally worth doing. 6x $ usual sales.

Also helped with less tangible benefits eg awareness of the product, which could lead to future conversions. Image I did 3 things for Black Friday this year:

โœ… Created a website to help other indie makers list their BF deals - SUCCESS

โœ… Did an AMA on reddit and on Indie Hackers - SUCCESS

โŒ Posted on LinkedIn - TOTAL FAIL (not even 1 like ๐Ÿคฃ) ImageImageImageImage

Hoping to get the first 3 done by end of this week. Let's go! Will post updates in the thread below...๐Ÿš€ Progress on the Silent Visual Alarm. The idea is when the timer is up, the Llama window will flash red. So even if you have the sound off, it should catch your eye. Also works well if Llama is partly obscured by other windows as you can still see the flash..

๐Ÿ‘‹ Hi, I'm Marie. I used to work in advertising/branding, but during COVID taught myself how to code. In 1yr, I learned enough to launch my own SaaS product. Still learning every day, but hoping this can inspire others who are looking to make a career change. It is possible ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ‘‡ It won't be for everybody but if you're on the fence about switching careers or learning to code, I'd definitely recommend exploring. You don't need to quit your day job straight away, you can just dabble to see if you like it. The important thing though is to dabble every day.
