Given all we know about The Don’s obsession with and desperate need (in order to avoid prosecution) to remain in power and that the 1/6 plan made its way to our DOJ—that the beginnings of 1/6 were found by…MUELLER? Barr was 110% willing to make sure that trump couldn’t be indicted *while in office* and that was made abundantly clear by his “conclusion” of and on the Mueller Report. But he did NOT stop Mueller from referring an unknown (and large) number of cases/subjects to unnamed agencies

@emptywheel Note: They’re always gunning for the court of PUBLIC opinion these days as if the actual USG Court System is not of importance… we have seen this with TFG, Stone, Gates etc etc etc.

I am now *convinced* this is a bigly disinfo tactic to appeal to alt-News services like Fox… @emptywheel The point is to grab the cases before they can even play out and figure out how/where to start poking holes in order to damage the public opinion of the cases and muddy the waters, as well as poison the eventual jury pool. It’s an extremely deviant tactic and it works.
