Salam Tuan @abdulhadiawang . I’d like to share an incident that happened less than 10 days ago. One of the refugees from Afghan contacted me. To let me know that her family, who’s living in Afghanistan was in danger The Taliban searched their neighbourhood from house to house. When they entered the family home, the Taliban couldn’t find anything of worth to take. So they decided to take the 13 year olds daughter to marry off to their fighters

I’m seeing more and more of this with the food aid requests from Sabah. Babies and toddlers having these breakouts. I’m not a medical doctor so I won’t speculate but I’m telling you we have a serious malnourishment issue amongst babies and kids. All avoidable. It’s not about poverty or access to food and medical services or vaccination and testing - without a doubt, we need a multi prong approach to addressing what I’m seeing everywhere amongst marginalised groups. The worst is the lack of urgency to address basic needs

Someone from India said this. Social distancing is a privilege. It means you live in a house large enough to practise it. Hand washing is a privilege too. It means you have access to running water. Hand sanitisers are a privilege. It means you have money to buy them. Lockdowns are a privilege. It means you can afford to be at home. Most of the ways to ward the Corona off are accessible only to the affluent.

On Statelessness. Have you wondered where stateless people are buried? I'm going to tell you a story. An old case of mine. of 4 children under 7 years old, who had to bury their Stateless mother in an unmarked grave outside Sepang. It took them a month to claim her body I'm sure I've told this story. About a Stateless couple. Man was left in the backseat of a taxi. Foundling. Earned a living selling vegetables. I'm not sure who brought him up. Girlfriend/wife also stateless

I’ll tell you what happened in the 3 cases of child marriage I was involved with- after they got married. Youngest child was 12. Husband was 15. She got pregnant. He ran away. 2nd case, girl was 14. Boy was 18. Divorced her. Stuck with 2 kids. First child at 12 years old 3rd case, child was 14. Man was 24. Divorced her. With a child. All 3 single mums. All 3 in Kl. With babies. No work. No education. Malaysian kids. Parents of the girl’s had to support
