Why write this book? Because on October 24, 2018 in #Louisville, KY, these 2 beautiful people—my sweet, elder cousin, Vickie Jones and Mr. Maurice Stallard—was stolen from their families & community by a man who decided they were the wrong color to be grocery shopping that day.
They are the genesis of my decision to write this book; to tell the stories of unrelenting pain and grief AND/ALSO how we make room for joy, love, peace, and healing by reckoning with it.
