Microsoft has started layoffs today. I’m hearing some in Experiences + Devices, Xbox, legal, strategic tech positions, and elsewhere are impacted. Microsoft isn't happy with the UK's CMA regulator over its Activision Blizzard acquisition comments. It describes the regulator's concerns as "misplaced" and that it "adopts Sony’s complaints without considering the potential harm to consumers" 👀 🧵 1/3 here's Microsoft trying to make it look like it sucks at Xbox and gaming 🙃 :

Huawei UK ban. A thread on the US war with China. It looks like the UK government will fully ban Huawei equipment for 5G this week. This will be a costly blow to 5G in the UK, forcing operators to strip out infrastructure and pass those costs to consumers. It’ll take years (1/7) The Huawei UK ban is all because of US sanctions. The US have gone to war with Huawei as if it’s a hostile nation. Huawei is the biggest supplier of network equipment in the world, and the US and its allies see Huawei as a “dangerous” power controlling 5G networks worldwide (2/7)

Facebook has been recording people’s call records on Android. Another reason I never use Android. I love that people defend Android because you can change permissions. Yeah and people read EULAs right? 🙄 iOS doesn’t even let developers access call history or SMS data.
