The anti-bicycle noises are coming from the main source of traffic problems of Metro Manila and other cities: private motorists. They're the most entitled, most spoiled, greediest users of public roads. Everywhere they go, there's traffic, noise, fumes and space shortages. Private cars hog roads. They should be reduced through massive taxes that should go to financing improvement in public transportation. Private car owners should pay extra annual taxes for environmental and social costs. Private parking buildings should also be taxed higher.

As we approach another Holy Week, hoping media would disrupt their coverage plans away from "dagsa na naman ang mga tao"

Example: Number of available seats in and units of buses, ships, planes -- and compared to previous years Hindi naman bago na maraming tao sa terminal, kasi malaking bansa tayo.

Ilang bus, barko, eroplano?

[TRANSCRIPT] Vice President @lenirobredo remarks at the thanksgiving event, May 13, Ateneo de Manila grounds

The struggle continues, dear friends.

Stay engaged. Criticize. Speak. Be aware of basic constitutional rights. Get a backup phone. Have a network of safe places. Form or join groups bec there's power in organization. Adopt/provide sanctuary to activist friends. Be an activist. Now's the time for commitment and courage, and also taking good care of one another and the people we profess to serve.

Gobyerno yun. Awayin ninyo ang gobyerno.

Let's normalize discussions about our politics with family, friends and neighbors, in a non-combative and non-condescending way: patient, convincing, inspiring, listening. Discussing national politics has never been thought to be a normal part of family, school, work and community life due to many reasons: fear, lack of knowledge, and the feeling that we don't have a role and a stake in it. "Politics is just for politicians," as some would say

Calamities are reason why we form a government. We provide government with the organization, manpower, money, resources and training to address emergencies in any part of the country. We expect government to work for us, especially at times like this. People outside Cagayan Valley are watching helplessly as we receive endless news of fellow Filipinos there desperately asking for help. Apparently, the LGUs alone cannot handle the sheer magnitude of the ecological humanitarian crisis. National government must step in.

The absence and silence of national disaster, civil defense and rescue officials throughout the night was obvious.

If there’s anyone who didn’t follow PAGASA’s advice, they are these “public servants” who would rather gaslight this morning. NDRRMC and OCD officials should disclose their whereabouts and activities in the hours leading to #UlyssesPH’s landfall until this outrageous presscon.

If the military wants to wage war with the New People’s Army, they should go to the mountains and duke it out with the rebels.

Problem is, Parlade et al are cowards. They use redtagging to target *unarmed* and peaceful activists, government critics, and concerned citizens. @ErickDelRay’s comment also begs the question: What if what the military derides as “communist views” are actually mainstream democratic and nationalist views, that any Filipino could independently arrive at? Examples: land reform, national industrialization, ousting tyrants

Trump is defeated.

Is it possible in and for the Philippines? YES.

But we need to do more than "wishing" it does.

(thread) In 2018, many aspirants started running, offering different platforms. The primaries offered Americans the chance to choose the nominee, and to debate about the platforms.

People organized, knocked on doors, phoned, donated.

Q: How are we going to choose candidates?

REMINDER TO TRAPOS AND THEIR FANS:

WE DON'T OWE LEADERS ANY DEBT OF GRATITUDE FOR "PROJECTS" PAID FOR BY TAXES AND BY LOANS TO BE PAID BY FUTURE GENERATIONS.

WE THANK THE TAXPAYERS, WORKERS, ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS FOR MAKING THESE PROJECTS POSSIBLE AND A REALITY. THESE TRAPOS WILL RETIRE WITH LOTS OF MONEY.

THEY LEAVE BEHIND MOUNTAINS OF DEBT, FROM CORRUPT IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECTS.

PATI KAYONG FANS NA NAG-AAGAWAN NG CREDIT, MAGBABAYAD DIN. MGA GAGO.

PNP *claims* they found bombs and explosives in their Nov. 2019 raid of the Bayan-Manila office in Tondo, where they arrested activists Reina Nasino, Ram Carlo Bautista and Alma Moran.

The truth is, they planted evidence.

Like how they planted evidence in the past.

/THREAD/ Remember Winston Ragos?

Shot and killed by police. Evidence planted.

What happened today: BJMP and PNP today mobilized hundreds in full battle gear, including vehicles. They had an operation/plan to implement, and it went beyond “escorting” and “securing” political prisoner Reina Nasino.

The planned to interfere and take over the funeral. Which would explain why the BJMP-PNP made Reina Nasino’s mother beg and kneel before the ground commander. The police took over the funeral.
