Google is ranking pages that are better at giving clear & fast answers or key information at the top.

(Answer box, key takeaways, #1 rec, etc.)

But fast answers lead to fast exits & less money.

However… you can still do this & keep people on your page.

Here’s my formula 👇 [Answer + Curiosity gap = Higher Engagement]

I'm now getting over 1 million visitors/month to my site from Pinterest 🚀

Here are 7 things I've been doing lately that I believe has skyrocketed my results 👇 1. Pinning more "before & after" images having been working well lately.

After 5 long years, I finally got this article to rank #1 in Google.

It went from 5 years of 35 clicks/day to over 1,000/day.

Here's how I updated it to steal the #1 rankings for its top keywords 👇 Image Step 1: Found keywords / sub topics it wasn't covering.

My primary keyword research tool is... Google.

I used it to find important keywords the article was missing.

Here's specifically how I use Google for keyword research:

This old article has made a big comeback in Google over the last month 🚀

Here’s what was done in 2 hours of work👇 Image 1. Ran a report in Search Console for its URL to find queries/keywords that it was ranking for but were not included in the article and added them to it ~ 30min

(Improved topical relevancy)

Here's a counterintuitive tip for more Pinterest traffic & better Google rankings 👇

💡Pin images that link to category pages.

This can send traffic (& backlinks) to category pages & pass link juice to its articles.

🚫Wait… doesn’t Pinterest slap a “nofollow” on their links? Nope…

Pinterest rewards sites with great images by removing the nofollow on links found on their auto-generated “10 Best Ideas and Inspiration” list pages for various topics.

This article of mine went for a wild ride on Google Discover this week 🙌

It ended up generating over 250,000 page views on the site in the first 72 hours.

Here's what likely helped it get featured 👇 Image - It was a listicle

- The title had a great "hook" (more details below)

- The main adjective used in the title was the word "Incredible" (kinda clickbaity, but it's subjective)

- It was targeting a specific demographic (age & gender) who are interested in this topic

Delegating critical parts of my business that I've been doing myself is TOUGH.

As you can see, not delegating the day-to-day SEO was the biggest thing holding my site back for years.

(Just like what Spencer experienced with writing all his posts)

However... Image Once I cracked the code on SEO, I took a leap of faith and hired a full-time American to take over.

Money was tight then & I only had 3 months runway for this new SEO role. It felt risky, but necessary.

I use "entities" in schema for Google to understand my articles' key topics which helps my rankings. My approach is that I then match each entity to a WordPress tag, so it auto populates the correct schema for each entity in the article.

Here's my exact process (with/example)👇 First: Why do this when Google's getting smarter about understanding language with its BERT and MUM / NLP AI?

Sometimes Google gets the meaning, context, and importance wrong for an article… and so do humans and AI when it comes to writing...

I used to struggle to get "real" and consistent traffic from Pinterest. But now Pinterest is sending me over 800,000 visitors per month in 2023.

Here’s exactly what I started doing each day👇 Image Pin 100% original images. I think this is a huge factor. These aren’t just modified images that have already been pinned.

Want to easily write more "helpful" content that ranks higher in Google?

Use more "definitive verbs" next to your main keyword & its synonyms.

They'll naturally help you write more authoritative content people are looking for.

Here are some examples of what I mean👇 Let's say your article's main keyword is:
best travel credit card

Here are some "helpful and definitive" verbs to add next to this keyword in your sentences:

Many SEOs say that just inserting or "stuffing" keywords into your existing content is "old school" SEO and it doesn't work anymore in the age of NLP, Google BERT, etc. But as you can see in my article's GSC report, it's still working for me when I do it like this 👇 Image But first, let’s talk about the word “AMBIGUOUS.” Do you know what it means? An ambiguous sentence is the enemy of SEO. It makes understanding our content harder (less helpful) for readers and search engines.

One of my websites saw a huge recovery (and then some) from the Google Core Update in March 2023 after getting hit by the Core Update in May 2022. Here are 20 things I did between these core updates 👇 1. Tripled the number of WordPress categories and added them to the main navigation, and allowed them to be indexed. Essentially creating more natural topical hubs. These category pages don’t really rank nor get much traffic.

I made one little tweak to an article's title tag based on a little "hunch" and daily clicks went from almost 0 to over 200 per day. Here's what led to that hunch 👇 Image I have two articles that are very similar but targeting two different demographics.

For example, "Best Slacks for Men" and "Best Slacks for Women"

(not my real niche btw)

ChatGPT helped me steal another featured snippet in Google for a dozen queries in less than 12 hours. Here's the full breakdown of how it went down 👇 Yesterday I was reviewing my GSC for my very first AI article I published back in early January. If you're using a 3rd party GPT-4 content generation tool like Koala for your articles and you're not customizing the prompt & outline, you're likely shooting yourself in the foot.... Tools like Koala or Jasper are great, but if you just use them out of the box, like your competitors, what's going to help you stand out and deserve that #1 spot on Google?

I found a goldmine of long tail AND high volume keywords in my niche that guarantee I'll quickly rank #1 for in Google.

TL;DR: I found keyword ranking gaps among my lowest quality competition. They suck at content but great at keyword research!

Here's how I did it in 6 steps 👇 Step 1:
I identified my lowest quality competitors by looking at Google result pages 2 through 10 for some of my biggest keywords.

I clicked through a bunch & reviewed their site's design & skimmed their content.

If it was all garbage, I added it to my list.
