A journey - Creation of a Trump voter 🧵
In 2016, I didn’t vote for Trump (or Hillary).
But I did in 2020 and 2024, because:

When I made this post, masks were required of my speech delayed Kindergartner.

I had given in and gotten the single covid shot because it was very hard to still find, and I knew I did not want the 2 shot regime. Newsom was on a mandating rampage, and we could not afford for me to lose my job. I did not want it because the mechanism feels like a recipe for autoimmunity.

My colleagues were required to have weekly Covid tests if they did not submit proof of vaccination, per Newsom order.

I was messaged by a (now former) coworker harassing me for my vocal Covid reaction objections.

Multiple friends had insulted and berated me for speaking against mandatory shots and masks. “Why are you doing this?” They asked, incredulous.

A person on Twitter with a burner acct doxxed me with the name of my school posted three times, followed by the ominous “trouble is coming.”

That same person emailed screenshots of tweets to the county office, my superintendent, and two principals to try to stir trouble for me at work (I was already very vocal so they knew my stances, and I did not get in trouble for tweets).

I had a tiny account yet I personally was censored on FB, Instagram, and Twitter — locked out from comments, posts, and my account entirely. The claims I was censored for turned out to be true.

There is one family at my kids’ school who still masks. It breaks my heart. 1/Image I had never been political before and had friends of so many perspectives, but during Covid, that was not really the case.

Conservatives in Ca developed code words so we could find one another. You absolutely had to hide your views unless you wanted to be confronted. 2/
