I got a CT scan in early August and haven't heard anything about it since then
I just checked my patient portal and found the scan report, which talks about some worrisome findings
Yet no one called me to flag it or follow up on it
For context, I am on the wait list for a doctor in Quebec
The doctor who ordered the test was a walk-in doctor part of the province's Guichet d'accès à la première ligne, a program meant to give people waiting for doctors access to GP appointments
My experience of public healthcare in Gatineau has been so awful. No clinics, no doctors, lost files, lost blood and urine samples, no one accountable to you unless you can find a kind soul willing to advocate on your behalf.
But if you can pay, you can see a doctor tomorrow.
There are at least a dozen private clinics 20 minutes from home.
This place charges a $799 annual membership for 3 doctor's visits and a couple routine tests, like Paps. Fees go up to $4,999 for 20 visits, presumably for a family w/kids.
A soft-rock station in Vancouver has been playing "Killing In the Name Of" by Rage Against the Machine for hours on a loop.
Whenever someone calls in for a request, they deny it and replay the Rage song again.
