Reading any Gustave Whitehead a German immigrant with claims to have flown a powered airplane prior to the Wright Brothers. In 1986 a high school teacher replicated the design and got actor and pilot Cliff Robertson to pilot the craft, he's an interesting guy himself.

In 1848 France abolished slavery and due to a need for labor they turned their previous slave based colony of French Guiana into a penal colony where they sent 57,000 prisoners, only 2,000 made it out alive. In 1968 Rev Melvin Hodges of the Assembly of God headed down with his missionaries to continue to spread the good word to the southern hemisphere.
