The largest of the shells is about the size of a Volkswagen Beetle. The shells were discovered in a dried-out riverbed near the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires. Pablo Messineo, one of the archaeologists, said the strange discovery was made by Juan de Dios Sota, a farmer who was taking his cows out for a graze when he spotted the shapes of the shells.

Thread of photos and videos featuring humans to help the eye determine the size of things. Some of these are mind-blowing.!

1. The size of this flag flown on a spanish ship at the battle of Trafalgar (1805) The flag flown on the "San Ildefonso" during the Battle of Trafalgar is a significant historical artifact, now housed at the National Maritime Museum in London, UK. This immense woolen flag, measuring 10 meters by 14.5 meters During naval battles of the time, such as Trafalgar, flags played a crucial role in communication amidst the chaos and cannon smoke. The battle ensign, like the one from the San Ildefonso, was designed to be highly visible. Its visibility was essential for signaling a ship's operational status and intent; if a ship surrendered, the flag would be lowered. 2. Gotta wait for it

1. Mesh drains in Australia prevent water bodies pollution. Should be a worldwide standard. The Australian city of Kwinana has designed a simple and cost-effective solution to deal with the discharge of waste from drainage systems. The town has put nets on the outlet of drainage pipes. These nets stop waste and pollutants from leaving the sewers, preventing garbage transported by rain waters from contaminating the town’s local water reserve. It is a simple filtering system and it works like a charm. The city reported that in just six months it collected 370 kilograms (815 pounds) of garbage from two locations where the nets are installed. The collected debris is then separated a... 2.
